President-Elect Trump is submitting candidates for the cabinet and other executive positions based on loyalty. Not competence, not experience, not character, but people who believe in Mr. Trump and MAGA.
Many of the named candidates for cabinet and sub-cabinet positions are entirely unqualified and only got nominated because they have completely committed to Trump and MAGA. The resultant brouhaha is a bit overdone, to say the least. The talking heads on cable TV and YouTube are running off at the mouth about who is going to get the support of Republican Senators, knowing that three or more negative votes will kill any nomination.
Put someone in a job that is far too difficult for them, and they will usually fail. That is what is being forgotten here at the front end of the process. The concern now is what might happen to the government once these inappropriate people get through the nomination process. What do you think will happen?! They will screw up!
The Trump loyalists and the MAGA supporters have created many “others”. One of them is the “Deep State”. Now, I have never heard of a clear definition as to who populates this deep state; I don’t know what they look like, where they work, or what they do. It is just an easy handle to be against. It has yet to be clearly defined by the MAGA camp.
If a nominee gets through the Advise and Consent phase and is approved, they will take their positions immediately and with accountability. What could possibly go wrong with an incompetent person in control and that person trying to dismantle the “deep state.”
Is the Social Security Administration part of the ‘deep state’? What about Veterans Affairs? What about Medicare and Medicaid? As an inexperienced, over-their-head executive, what might happen? Social security checks fail to get sent out? Medicare reimbursements not made? School lunch programs fail to be covered by the Department of Education?
Think of the headlines if Social Security checks are not sent out. The coverage will be elderly citizens on the one hand and the incompetent Trump executive on the other. This will also affect Republican Senators who are up for re-election in 2026, as they will get pinned by the incompetency that they approved.
The more the merrier. What if all the Republican Senators decide to support the president with his nominations? Well, the MAGA party will have to stand the consequences. It is inconceivable to me that there won’t be major screw-ups in the first six months of the Trump Administration if Republicans can blindly support the President’s nominations. This could be a key issue in the 2026 elections.
Remember that in 2018 there was a mid-term landslide for the Democrats, and this was just about Trump and not about the complete failure of approved nominees who failed to serve the American people as they try to “take down the Deep State”
We can stand in disgust or awe at the lack of experience and competency for the majority of the Trump nominees. Just remember that they will probably be incompetent – where is the road map for destroying the “Deep State” while providing the services that it does for the American citizens?
The Republican Senators will be concerned about getting reelected in 2026. There are 20 up for reelection in 2026. What do they think ‘attacking the Deep State’ will look like by 2026?
This might be one of your best observations. i hope that you get it to the Republican Senators. However the International damage caused by Talsi Gabbard and Trump's "friendship " with Putin could screw the world situation.
