The Big Stupid is Everywhere – Wall Street

Sorry to stay on this stupidity/incompetency issue a bit more. I am just so disgusted with all the obvious stupidity across the land.

I have always assumed that the ‘Masters of the Universe’ that work on Wall Street are smart. However, they have been acting stupid since Trump started the war with Iran on 2/28/26. As of mid-June, CNN had counted how many times Trump has said the war ‘would be over in two-three days’ : 40 times since the start of the war. Over three and a half months he told the world 40 times that the war would soon be over. The only reason he said that was he wanted equity markets to go up.

Here is the pattern, again happening this past weekend:

-Trump says that negotiations/discussions are taking place over the weekend.[This past weekend he said that instead of a massive air attack the framework of a deal is being put in place so he did not launch the threatened attack.] This means that on the Monday markets, equities will go up and the price of oil will go down. Then, a few days after this positive message and the markets are up, there will be events happening that by the end of the week, will cause a reality check of a closed Strait of Hormuz. Let’s see what happens this week.

-So unless the smart people on Wall Street have become day traders, this pattern doesn’t make sense. Buy into equities on Friday, short oil on Friday. Then take profits on Monday and Tuesday before the reality check occurs. Then short the equity markets before the next weekend. Then buy in again on Friday. There is no other way to see this; the market has become one of day traders.

-Why does no one listen to America’s opponent in this war? I wrote a column on the unfortunate fact that Iran is speaking more of the truth about the war than the pathological liar who is President of the U.S. While Trump flounders around and speaks of on-going talks with Iran, Iran says there are no talks.

As a futurist, why am I so concerned with this seemingly path of choosing stupidity? Here is why:

-Since 2017, I have written three books and many columns and a hundred speeches about the reality that the 2020s are the most disruptive decade in history. To navigate these 10 years humanity will need its full intelligence and awareness of the massive disruptions going on

-The planet is burning. Humanity is the cause of this burning. Humanity needs to face this cataclysmic reality NOW. That takes will and intelligence.

-Humanity is at the global stage of human evolution. We are at an unprecedented transition between what was and what will be. We need elevated species thinking on what to do.

-We have entered the Age of Intelligence. Why stupidity?
