Da Pope!

An American as Pope. I certainly didn’t see that coming.

As a Chicagoan, I am excited as the Pope was born in Chicago. Wow! Who knew we produced a Pope and not just a lot of machine politicians?

As a Chicagoan I have long had to hear the phrase that ridicules how we speak:

Da Bears! Da Cubs! Da Sox! Da Bulls! [I have long assumed this was started around the time that Coach Ditka walked the sidelines]

Now we Chicagoans can add:

Da Pope!
